FOUNDATIONAL PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID

You don't need to be a therapist to make a difference. But when a colleague is struggling, most people freeze -- unsure what to say, afraid of making things worse. This course changes that. In four hours, you go from unsure to ready.

Description

Who this is for

This course is for anyone who wants to show up for a colleague -- not because it's in their job description, but because they care. Whether you've been nominated as a peer supporter or simply feel the pull to be the kind of person others can turn to, this is where that instinct becomes a skill.

No prior training required. No professional background needed. Just a willingness to learn.

What you will walk away with

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Recognise early signs of stress and distress in yourself and those around you
  • Start a supportive, stigma-free conversation about mental health at work
  • Apply the Prepare–Look–Listen–Link framework through realistic, hands-on practice
  • Know where your role begins and ends, and how to connect someone to the right help
  • Draw on self-care principles so you can support others without running empty

About this programme

This is a non-clinical course. You will not be asked to diagnose, counsel or treat. You will learn to provide early support, hold safe conversations and refer appropriately -- skills that are immediately useful at work and that you will find yourself reaching for in everyday life too.

Delivered under Singapore's Well-being Champions Network (WCN), a national initiative supported by MOM, NTUC and SNEF, and powered by Kaleidoscope Labs.

Similar events

A colleague goes quiet. Someone breaks down. Another says something that stops you cold. These moments happen in real workplaces every day. This course prepares you for when they do -- and when they are harder than anything the Foundational course covered.
